First of all, let me say that I like this photo. The subject has great potential and you are well on your way to exploiting it.

--Advanced Critique--
If you would like to try a couple new things I would try these.

Reposition the drain in the lower right or lower left. One of the key rules in photography is to use the rule of thirds, things are rarely as attractive as they could be when they are placed dead center (I was a really great example of what not to do in some of my earlier work, I try harder now to follow my own advice).

I think you used some sort of artistic filter in photoshop to give it the smokey image: don't. If the raw image is solid enough (in focus, etc) then sharpen up the lines and so on.

Lastly, if you're doing your own black and white conversions let me congratulate on your eye for contrast and tonal variance. If you're not, try your hand at dodging and burning for a similar effect the the above.

Last of all, don't forget that these are just suggestions. You're a good photographer.

MM Normally I would say yeah about the thirds, but with the irregularities of the stone blocks I think this is fine centered. It may have ruined the look f you put it off center. Next time I'd say just take multiples some centered some off center, thirds as stated above, or even cut off. Then you can pick through them at your liesure. I usually take 4 to 5 of the same thing if I have time i.e. the subject is stationary. After that I pick my favorite. Remember you can always crop!

That said I do like this image!
